Hello, I’m Scott Hutcheson. For nearly four decades, I’ve been working at the intersection of behavioral science, leadership, and organizational transformation, helping people unlock their potential, build stronger teams, and design ecosystems that are more adaptive, innovative, and competitive.
My work spans classrooms and boardrooms. As a professor at Purdue University, I teach graduate courses in technology and engineering leadership. Outside the university, I’ve partnered with federal agencies, Fortune 100 companies, startups, foundations, and networks of changemakers—collaborating with nearly 5,000 leaders from 147 countries.
Clients and students often describe my style as approachable, thoughtful, and grounded in real-world insight. One student recently said, “You make complex ideas feel intuitive—and relevant to the challenges I’m facing right now.”
At heart, I’m fascinated by how human systems behave, why some teams thrive while others stall, and how leaders can signal just the right mix of warmth, competence, and gravitas to bring people together and create shared value. That curiosity drives everything I do: from my writing, to keynote talks, to training sessions built around practical, evidence-based tools.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me walking our dog in the historic neighborhood of Ulen, Indiana, traveling with my wife Lisa, visiting with our two adult sons Henry and Oliver, or BBQing on the back patio...very likely listening to Yacht Rock!.
I’d love to hear more about your leadership journey, the opportunities you're exploring, and the challenges you’re navigating. If it feels like a fit, let’s find a way to work together.
Let’s connect. Just fill out the form below and I’ll be in touch.
