Biohacking Leadership
Our new book Biohacking Leadership: Leveraging the Biology of Behavior to Maximize Your Impact (Wiley) by Scott Hutcheson, PhD with Matthew D. Jones takes a deep dive into many of the concepts and frameworks touched on in our training. It represents decades of research and practice. It is also informed by one of the graduate courses Scott teaches at Purdue University as part of the Master of Engineering Management and Professional Masters Programs in the College of Engineering. Biohacking Leadership is the first book in a three-book biohacking series. The followups will be focused on Biohacking Teams: Leveraging the Biology of Behavior for Peak Performance (2026) and Biohacking Organizations: Leveraging the Biology of Behavior for Competitiveness and Resilience (2027). Here more about Biohacking Leadership from the publisher.
Built on a dual foundation of rigorous research and real-world application, Biohacking Leadership: Leveraging the Biology of Behavior to Maximize Your Impact explores how leaders can apply biohacking principles to understanding and leverage the biological and behavioral drivers of decision-making, influence, and impact. The first in a three-part series, this book discusses how to optimize your leadership by using neuroscience and biomechanics to enhance your mental and physical state, fostering more effective communication, emotional regulation, and collaboration.
Each concept and strategy in this book is informed by science, but the insights are presented in an accessible, actionable way, discussing topics including:
- The concept of leadership biodynamics as a set of three channels and the 18 biometric signals that represent the essential dimensions of effective leadership: warmth, competence, and gravitas
- How insights from nature’s keystone species―beavers, wolves, and sea stars―illustrate the impact of creating balance, inclusivity, and shared value
- How to deliver results with clarity and credibility by mastering complexity, decision-making, and alignment with strategic goals
- The critical role of creativity, adaptability, and play in fostering innovation, resilience, and team cohesion
Biohacking Leadership: Leveraging the Biology of Behavior to Maximize Your Impact is an essential guide for all professionals seeking to harness cutting-edge scientific research and developments and to bring their organizations to new heights.

Intensive Workshops
What you experienced was merely a half-day introduction to Leadership Biodynamics. The typical training is two full days, covering more concepts with a lot more time to experiment, practice, and fine-tune your executive presence. Learn more about these more intensive trainings here.
We also offer workshops and training in other topics including high-performing teams, organizational culture, organizational change, and strategy development and execution. If you are interested in any of those topics, let us know below.
Advanced Diagnostics
Leadership BioPresence (LBP) is a groundbreaking biological approach to what is sometimes referred to as “executive presence.” Rooted in the biology of behavior, our LBP tools empower you to understand and fine tune the behavioral signals you send that influence others – your team, your clients, your partners. Our research has identified 18 of these signals, or biomarkers. The LBP provides a snapshot of the extent to which you are sending the behavioral signals to others that will prompt them to enlist, subscribe, buy, join, or otherwise commit. The LBP is an online assessment that takes just a few minutes to complete and you’ll then gain access to a personalized report with valuable insights.
Leadership BioPresence Self-Assessment
The LBP self-assessment allows you evaluate yourself according to the 18 biomarkers to get a better understanding of your own perception of how present these biomarkers are in your leadership interactions. The comprehensive report you will get includes data and interpretation of your results.
Leadership BioPresence 360
The LBP is a self-assessment. Many participants opt also for our LBP 360, which includes a feedback assessment allowing you to compare and contrast the signals you think you are sending with the signals others are actually receiving. This is also done through our online platform. You ask 3-5 individuals who know you well to provide feedback and we’ll ask them to complete an LBP feedback assessment. We’ll then analyze the data from both your self-assessment and the feedback assessments to provide you with a more complete picture of your Leadership BioPresence. The feedback assessments are aggregated so you’ll not know who rated you how. We’ll also communicate that to those you ask to participant so will feel comfortable providing honest and candid feedback.
The Leadership BioPresence Self-Assessment and 360 will be available Summer 2025. If you are interested in getting notified when it is available, let us know using the form below.
