BrainPower Analytics

Resumes and transcripts. Job postings and interviews. These are important artifacts in the matchmaking that occurs between job candidates and the organizations that hire them. They often do a good job of helping match the knowledge, experience, and qualifications acquired by the candidate and required for the job. What they don’t do very well, however, is explicitly communicate a way of thinking, either the way of thinking that is required to be successful in a given job or how a given person thinks – process information and makes decisions. In a knowledge-based economy how you think is often just as important as what you know. Also, in different stages of an organization’s growth cycle, specific ways of thinking play different roles.

Economic data about firms and occupations shed some light into an economy and about the firms does and job categories within the firm. This data, however, doesn’t tell a complete story. These datasets don’t provide insights about the resilience of an economy or firm, or the degree of ease or difficulty an economic region, a firm, or an industry sector might have in reinventing itself after an economic shift or their capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship? They don’t give any clues about how well we’ll be able to tighten our collective belt to weather temporary downturns.

BrainPower Analytics (BPA) can provide these insights and more for employers, for universities, and for policymakers. BrainPower Analytics can help assess and visualize the cognitive DNA embedded in the the workers within a company, an industry cluster, a state, or even the entire U.S. workforce population.

For Employers. BPA can assist employers by analyzing key positions and identify the unique BrainPower Profiles that are required to be successful in these positions. Our BrainPower Analysts can then provide an assessment platform to use with job candidates to see how closely they match the optimal BrainPower Profiles. BPA can also make available to you a curated pool of candidates that match the unique BrainPower Signatures needed for your positions.

For employers looking to hire new talent, we can also provide a Strategic Hire Analysis that can help you determine the specific cognitive signatures of candidates who best align with the your strategic priorities. We can then work with you to develop position descriptions and recruitment strategies to help you find the right candidates. Once you’ve identified a candidate pool, we can conduct our Strategic Diversity Assessment powered by AEM-Cube to help inform your strategic hiring decisions.

For Universities. BPA can provide a BrainPower Analytics Platform that will allow universities to efficiently assess students to determine their BrainPower Profiles to better match them with employers and jobs for which their profiles are best suited.

For Economic Development, Workforce Development, and Public Policy. Imagine being able to able to analyze the predominant BrainPower characteristics of an entire workforce within an industry sector or cluster, an economic region, or an entire state. These insights can help determine the collective cognitive DNA of these groups by developing BrainPower Profiles for the predominant occupations of the groups. This knowledge can help inform economic development and workforce strategies and policies.

EcosystemDNA Analytics. BPA can also be helpful in gaining a deep understanding of the ecosystem-level capacity for entrepreneurship and innovation at a national, state/provincial, or regional level. An EcosystemDNA analysis is done by (1) converting occupational codes (NOC in Canada, SOC in US) to Required Performance Indicators (RPIs), (2) using cognitive diversity frameworks to create Cognitive Thumbprints for each occupation, and then (3) using employment data at the regional, municipal, cluster, or organizational level to perform EcosystemDNA Analytics. The data and visualizations from EcosystemDNA Analytics can provide policy makers and other leaders valuable insights into entrepreneurship and innovation capacity.
